  1. Yeah Molly!!! You were an amazing coxwain and I’m always impressed when I see you lifting at the gym. You’re an inspiration to many…I hope to see you go far.

  2. This is awesome! Go Molly! I’m heartened to see so many more women lifting weights than there were 15 yrs ago (I used to be one of few lifting weights). And Molly takes it to an entirely higher level. Don’t listen to anyone trying to marginalize your success: You are strong. Period.

  3. You go Molly! I too found my way to overcome an eating disorder through weight lifting and encourage more women to get involved in athletics and weight lifting to be both strong and healthy. Keep up all your hard work :)

  4. Molly, you are awesome!! I will share your message with my thirteen year-old daughter. You are an inspiration. Keep up the great work!

  5. I relate to this so much, from the lifting to the tattoos to the women’s rights. You are so powerful, thank you for sharing this.

  6. You are AMAZING, Molly. I’ve always loved Princess Mononoke, and seeing your tattoo is what incited me to comment, but in your words and actions you are a fantastic role model for all powerful women and I’m so glad you were given this spotlight in BU Today–keep it up, girl!

  7. You rock, Molly! Not only are you a strong woman, but you’re working to help other women feel strong and empowered, too. That’s a winning combination.

  8. Smart + strong + motivated = inspiring. As my daughter grows, I hope to see more and more women like Molly providing a model of confidence and achievement for her to learn from and believe in.

  9. Molly, it’s so cool to see you’re doing well. It really made me smile to see that you paid homage to Miyazaki (definitely made me remember when we used to talk about his movies). I’m happy that you’re so successful, and I hope that everything keeps getting better for you.

Even before you started lifting, I felt like you inspired me to be stronger, because I was amazed at how much life’s thrown at you and you kept fighting despite it all. You’re just an incredibly inspirational person, and I hope to be half as amazing as you have already become.

    Best Wishes,
    Kyle

  10. I have been obsessed with body language and taking up space, so your take home message really resonated with me. When I began to thoroughly research body language, I noticed how I would make myself smaller–crossing my arms and legs, touching my neck, etc. Since then I have tried to open up. My junior year of high school, I founded my high school’s fitness club and began lifting at my friend’s recommendation. I am willing to give anything a try, so I said yes. While I can only lift the bar with no weights added, I find that lifting forces me to pay more attention to my form which I appreciate. It makes me happy to know that I am defying traditional gender roles as an amateur lifter. Thank you for being an inspiration. I love your presence and your tattoos. It is nice to know that there is someone out there like me.

  11. Molly Kelly is truly an example that other women should consider. She made her mark on her own in a sphere that is particularly dominated by males and beat them in their own game. Truly an example to follow!
