  1. Does he get paid enough? Does he have good benefits and retirement? For many at BU, doing the best work isn’t rewarded with the best pay. (Ask any postdoc, any researcher, any non tenure tracker.) It’s great to praise, but what really matters is how you act. Put your money where your mouth is, BU.

    1. Joe, while I believe your thought comes from a place of complete benevolence, I feel like it also underestimates BU’s employees’ abilities to make decisions for themselves. If it weren’t satisfactory they simply wouldn’t be there.
I made some powerful connections with several B&G staff while I was at BU. I chatted long hours with them, played and even danced with them. Few work places offer the cheerful environment that BU can be.

      1. Alumnus,

That’s a myth. In theory people can leave if they aren’t happy. In practice, sometimes there’s too much at stake to leave. For example, his significant other might have a job here in Boston and may not be able to leave. His kids might not want to leave etc.

I’d be surprised if Lee was totally pleased with his situation here at BU, given BUs terrible reputation in how it treats its employees. I’ve heard many many horror stories about employees, researchers, post docs and non tenure track people who have grinded for BU only to never get a raise or a promotion.

        1. He works for Aramark, not BU, HUGE difference. Aramark is pretty transparent with benefits employees receive and it’s pretty safe to say he is getting proper benefits and a decent wage.

  2. It was a honor to work alongside Lee back in the early 90’s. He is truly dedicated to his job, his coworkers and does it all for the students. I wish him well and a wonderful retirement life.

  3. I am father of Meghana Dwaraka who joined BU this year. I don’t know Mr. Lee Morris, but it is amazing to hear about him and his dedication. Wonderful and great. I appreciate the honor bestowed on him.

    It is inspiring

    Regards
    Jayendra

  4. Thank you Mr Morris. You seem like the total package. The real deal. The student body (and everyone) should aspire to be more like you. You are a man of integrity, a man to be respected and admired. I hope that you are gifted with an outstanding retirement package- maybe lifetime prescriptions!! I would donate!
