  1. Typo: “Union Court at the George Sherman Union will be open on Monday from noon to 10 midnight. ” Think you mean just midnight or 10pm, not sure which.

  2. Will we have shuttle tomorrow afternoon?

We will have a make up lecture tomorrow afternoon on medical campus. I’m wondering if I can take a shuttle bus form CRC to medical campus.

    1. My apology for the late reply. I did respond early this morning but I noticed that it did not post accordingly. Ther is no shuttle running today as a result of the President’s Day holiday. The shuttle will resume service with tonight’s late-night schedule beginning at 10:05 p.m.

  3. We have a Rideshare section within the Parking & Transpotation Services website which may be helpful for you. Please feel free to reach out to our office directly with any other questions you may have.

    1. The link for the Rideshare does not work and the contact us link gives an error message. I have tried to fill out the form numerous times today and it says there are required fields, I fill them in and it bounces back to required field. With the mess of the MBTA it would be great to get this up and running. Thanks.

    1. Everyone that doesn’t live on campus is “experiencing problems”, Juan. You’re not the exception and it’s not BUs responsibility to get you to school.

      1. Christine I think that since you are not a BU representative you shouldn’t be telling us what BUs job is or is not. We also pay tuition and BU had no expectation / facilities to house 100% of students on campus, which is why they MUST consider those who live in various areas of Boston currently inaccessible through MBTA. So please keep your unhelpful advice to yourself.

  4. What is the university doing about all of the students who live on the green line well past packards corner (out next to boston college) and can’t afford to be taking cabs everywhere- if we can even get one!

    1. it was your choice to live off-campus. the university is not responsible for arranging transportation for students who choose to live off-campus. be a responsible adult and arrange for your own transportation or decide to miss class. sheesh.

      1. There is not enough room in on-campus housing to house every undergraduate student, and, in fact, BU encourages people and indeed helps them move off campus. Whether that choice is responsible or not (it is) is completely irrelevant now that it’s been made. I’d argue that I’m *more* of a responsible adult by living off-campus and taking care of my own things, my own groceries, my own transportation costs than those who are upperclassmen and still live on campus.

What transportation options do you suggest we arrange for ourselves? I have class at 9:30am on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. I live less than 2 miles away from where that class is held and yet I still have to go wait for the bus at 8:00am to be on time simply because the MBTA service is so unreliable and infrequent. The fact that BU thinks it is reasonable for students west of Packards Corner to be hung out to dry while people in Warren can roll out of bed is ridiculous.

You’re self-righteousness is appalling and offensive, enjoy your 2 minute walk to class in the morning.

    2. You chose to live off campus independently so it’s time to put your big girl boots on, start walking and take responsibility for that decision. It’s not the university’s job to figure out how to get you to class.

      1. Do you understand that this university does not have enough housing to accommodate its entire student population? Like many other colleges, BU encourages upperclassmen to move out of the dorms in order to make room for underclassmen and students whose financial aid packages require them to remain on campus. That said, while it isn’t the university’s job to get us to class, our health and safety are. Asking students who live miles away from campus, or Packard’s Corner, or whatever, to walk miles in freezing temperatures down substandard sidewalks and untended crosswalks (if you haven’t been out to Allston/Brighton recently, we’re still pretty much buried) creates a health/safety risk.

          1. Thank you for that. Unfortunately a lot of people live *beyond* Packards Corner, at distances that make expecting people to walk to that stop to wait for buses that are likely to be unable to accommodate the number of people who will be waiting (no T there tomorrow, so the buses will be extra busy) extremely unreasonable and frankly somewhat absurd.

          2. So, I live 2 miles away from packards corner with unshoveled sidewalks. Those of us get to walk in the street to make it to class, oh and get to do the same coming back from night class at 9pm. Dying for an education.

    3. I think one lecture cost much more than the cost of taxi from BC to packard’s corner.I was planning to take a taxi to school(I live somewhere near BC), then I got the email from the professor saying that the makeup was cancelled. One lecture of that 4-credit course cost $500, and we will never be refunded.

    4. If every single BU student lived on campus I doubt there would be enough room for everyone in the dorms. So yeah it’s her choice, but someone’s got to do it. I hate it when people play the “you decided to commute, you figure it out” card. For some people, it’s a cheaper alternative. For others, they just don’t like sharing bathrooms with 50 other people. Just because they live off campus doesn’t mean they can’t be helped. They still go to school there. Geeze.

  5. I’ve already missed several classes throughout the past few weeks due to delays and cancellations of the MBTA. With potentially more snow coming tomorrow, will we be held accountable for missed classes?
