YouSpeak: The Forecast for Social Media
Predicting what’s in and what’s out in the year ahead
It wouldn’t be the start of a new year without trend-spotters compiling lists of what to expect in the months ahead.
When asked to forecast changes for social media in 2014, many bloggers and tech writers pointed to the same trends: a migration away from Facebook to social media sites like Snapchat, steady growth in image-centric sites (Instagram, Pinterest, and once again, Snapchat), and an explosion in video consumption.
Are they right? We asked BU students to gaze into their crystal balls and give us a few of their predictions about the social media landscape. This week’s “YouSpeak” asks: “What’s in and what’s out for social media in 2014?”
