Parents Weekend Event Showcases Student Groups
Saturday Night Extravaganza: singing, dancing, and comedy

This weekend, take a break from posing in front of Boston landmarks with your parents and let them be entertained by a showcase of music, comedy, and dance featuring BU students.
The event, billed as Saturday Night Extravaganza, takes place Saturday at 8 p.m., and is hosted by the Student Activities Office and Orientation, as part of the Parents Weekend festivities.
“It’s a way to let parents see what our office does,” says Lindsey Trione (SHA’10), the SAO graduate assistant for Greek life. “It’s going to be fun and parents can see several performing and cultural groups at once.”
The performances will feature the a cappella groups In Achord, Barbershop Sweethearts, the Treblemakers, and Aural Fixation; the dance groups Edge Dance Company, X-ception Step Team, and Step About Boston; the sketch comedy group the Callbacks; the Afro-Brazilian martial arts group Capoeira; and the Music Business and Performance Club.
All BU students and parents are invited to attend.
Saturday Night Extravaganza is on Saturday, October 23, at 8 p.m. in the George Sherman Union Metcalf Hall, 775 Commonwealth Ave., second floor. Tickets, available at the door, are $20.
