BPL film series features The Firm
What more could you want in an escapist movie than hoodlums, crooked lawyers, big bucks, and sex?
As part of its “Made in Massachusetts” film series, a yearlong celebration of movies filmed in the commonwealth, the Boston Public Library is showing The Firm tonight.
Based on the best-selling John Grisham novel, The Firm (1993) stars Tom Cruise as Mitch McDeere, a Harvard Law School graduate recently hired by a prestigious Memphis law firm. When McDeere learns of the firm’s ties to organized crime, he’s thrown into a world of corruption and blackmail. Scenes were filmed at Harvard University, at Copley Plaza, and in South Boston.
The free screening begins at 6 p.m. in the BPL’s Rabb Lecture Hall, 700 Boylston St., Copley Square, Boston. To get to there, take the Green Line to Copley .
