Local Folkies Tip Hats to Radiohead
British alt rockers get unplugged tribute tonight at Club Passim

Get your Radiohead on at tonight’s songwriter tribute at legendary Club Passim in Cambridge.
As part of its regular Songwriter Tribute Night series, a dozen or so local singer-songwriters will gather at the iconic folk club in Harvard Square and cover — unplugged, of course — tunes from the influential British alternative quintet Radiohead. The innovative authors of such hits as “Creep” and “Stop Whispering,” Radiohead released their latest album In Rainbows (2007) online, allowing listeners to pay whatever they wanted.
Club Passim opened in 1958 under the name Club 47, and its 125-seat basement room holds an iconic place in folk music history. Acoustic performers like Joan Baez, Tom Rush, Peter Wolf, Taj Mahal, Patty Larkin, and Suzanne Vega have all graced its stage. A young Bob Dylan was first introduced here by club darling Baez. During the day, the non-profit venue operates as Veggie Planet, a vegetarian eatery, which serves fare during the evening performances. Past songwriter tributes have included Peter Gabriel, John Prine, Van Morrison, and Elvis Costello.
Club Passim is located at 47 Palmer St., Cambridge. Tonight’s show begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10. Call 617-492-7679 or click here for more information.
