Forensic Science Society Holds Seminar
Forensic science seminar about the Station nightclub fire at the Medical Campus
Do you sit up at night watching reruns of CSI or Law and Order: SVU? If so, a seminar hosted by the Boston University Forensic Science Society (BUFSS) on Thursday, April 16, may be of interest.
Maureen Hume, R.N., will talk about her investigation into the 2003 Station nightclub fire in Rhode Island that killed 100 people and injured hundreds more. Hume is the director of medicolegal investigations with the Boston office of the Chief Medical Examiner. She will discuss her part in the identification of the human remains.
The Biomedical Forensic Sciences Program at the School of Medicine is a master’s degree program that trains people in a variety of forensic disciplines used in crime scene investigation and evidence analysis.
The BUFSS is a student biomedical forensic science group that works to raise money to host guest lectures in the forensic science field and to promote understanding and interest in biomedical forensic science throughout the BU community.
