  1. I am surprised to see the Crepes and Cognag story featured prominently in BU Today. I wonder why the publication is promoting this for-profit, commercial event. Unless I have overlooked something, it appears not to be a BU activity, and drinking cognac is only for folks above the age limit. If this were listed among several other eating opportunities in and around the area, it might feel more appropriate. As it is, it looks like free advertising for the hotel/restaurant. Did they pay to have it published? If so, that diminishes BU Today as a publication.

  2. If you get a chance to visit the town of Cognac in Western France, make sure you tour some of the Cognac distilleries such as Otard, Hennessey, Martell (to name just a few). You may even be lucky to get some tastings.

    Outside of Cognac, you can visit the vineyards and try a derivative of Cognac called Pineau (“cognac” plus wine).
