Lonnie Ali, wife and primary care partner of former boxing champion Muhammad Ali, discusses her role as primary caregiver of her husband, who has Parkinson’s disease. Ali, who has cared for her husband since they were married in 1986, speaks on behalf of the American Parkinson’s Disease Association (APDA) of Massachusetts and the Fight for MORE campaign, a national initiative that provides support, educational information, and resources to people who care for the more than 1.5 million patients with Parkinson’s disease. Ali talks about her husband’s diagnosis and their adaptation to life with the disease.
Kapil Sethi, a professor of neurology and director of the Movement Disorders Clinic at the Medical College of Georgia, talks about risk factors and therapies.

About the speakers:
Lonnie Ali is a business leader, an activist, and the wife and care partner of former boxing champion Muhammad Ali. Ali has studied at Vanderbilt University and the University of California, Los Angeles, and assisted in the campaign to build the Muhammad Ali Center, an education center in Louisville, Ky. Ali currently works with the Fight for MORE campaign to provide resources for Parkinson’s caregivers.
Kapil Sethi is a professor of neurology and director of the Movement Disorders Clinic at the Medical College of Georgia. The clinic has been designated a Center of Excellence by the National Parkinson’s Foundation.
