Lounging Against the Machine
Richard Cheese and his band “swankify” pop, rock, and rap hits

Richard Cheese, the self-proclaimed “hardest-working Dick in show business,” has gained international fame for singing Vegas versions of rock, rap, and Top 40 hits, “swankifying” contemporary songs into traditional pop vocal standards. Tonight, Cheese and his jazz trio, Lounge Against the Machine, take their madcap act to the stage of the Paradise Rock Club, 967 Commonwealth Ave.
Donned in a tiger-striped tuxedo, Cheese’s covers range from Depeche Mode to Limp Bizkit to Green Day. He and Lounge Against the Machine have put out seven CDs, including, I’d Like a Virgin, and Aperitif for Destruction.
“Just imagine Sinatra singing a Radiohead song,” Cheese’s Web site declares, “and you’ve got Dick.”
Tonight’s show is 18+ and tickets ($35) can be purchased through the Paradise Web site or by calling 617-562-8800. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8.
