Harborfest Celebrates the Fourth with a Bang
Festival featuring more than 200 events starts today
As a hotbed in the struggle for independence, Boston had its fair share of rabble-rousing. Remember that Tea Party? The Boston Massacre? The shot heard round the world? Boston Harborfest keeps that patriotic spirit alive with a six-day Fourth of July celebration featuring more than 200 events, including historical reenactments, walking tours, sunset harbor cruises, and free concerts on City Hall Plaza. Events begin today, July 1, and continue through Sunday, July 6.
The opening ceremony starts at noon today at Faneuil Hall; among the day’s many offerings are a tour of the State House, various activities at the Old South Meeting House, where the Boston Tea Party began, plenty of Duck Tours, and even a reenactment of the Boston Tea Party.
