SDM’s Friedman Named to Dental Honor Society
Paula Friedman, SDM associate dean of administration, was named a fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy honor society.

This month, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, an international organization that recognizes outstanding work in dentistry, named Paula Friedman, associate dean for administration at the School of Dental Medicine, a fellow of the organization for “contributing to the profession above and beyond the ordinary.”
Friedman is one of three SDM affiliates in the Fauchard Academy, which was founded in 1936 to encourage achievement and advancement in dentistry. Other BU-connected members include Spencer Frankl, dean of SDM, and Steven Perlman, a clinical associate professor of pediatric dentistry.
“Any effort that has brought this distinction has been the result of working with a wonderful group of professional colleagues,” says Friedman. “I appreciate the opportunities that the school, and specifically Dean Frankl, have afforded me over the past 30 years that led to this recognition.”
Friedman is a past president of the American Dental Education Association and was a member of SDM’s accreditation committee.
