"
U.S. Senator Sam Brownback, a Republican candidate for president, will be the speaker at the BU African Presidential Archives and Research Center’s (APARC) first lecture in its Leadership Lecture Series tonight. The Kansas senator’s speech, Africa, Al Qaeda, and U.S. Security: How Better U.S.-Africa Relations Benefit U.S. Security Interests, will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Metcalf Trustees Ballroom, One Sherborn St., ninth floor.
“The lecture series was designed to provide a forum for the Democratic and Republican presidential candidates to discuss foreign policy issues and U.S. security issues, particularly as they relate to Africa,” says Sean Fairchild, an APARC project coordinator.
A reception will be held at 5:15 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, but seating is limited, so an RSVP to aparc@bu.edu or 617-353-5452 is required.
