John Standard, a former research analyst in BU’s Office of Institutional Research, left the Charles River Campus this summer to take on a new role at the Goldman School of Dental Medicine. Standard began his new job as the program manager for SDM’s Office of Educational Research on July 2.

Standard will implement postdoctoral program evaluations and use the data to create curriculum improvements. He’s excited about the opportunity to have a greater role in the University’s academic affairs. “I’m very excited to be working with the faculty,” he says, “and feeling like I’m more a part of the educational process.”

When Standard came to BU in March 2006, he began studying for a master’s degree in urban affairs. He is also in the dissertation phase of his doctorate in higher education administration and education policy at the University of Massachusetts, Boston.
