Art critic Jerry Saltz and painter Matthew Ritchie will discuss the private and public sides of artists and their works at the School of Management on March 28. Saltz is a senior art critic with the Village Voice. He has been nominated three times for a Pulitzer Prize and was named Most Influential Art Critic by New York Magazine in 2006. Ritchie’s works explore the nature of the universe through various creation myths. They span a broad spectrum of media, including drawing, painting, large-scale installations, sculpture, and Web-based projects and books. His artwork has been shown in museums across the country, including the Mass Museum of Contemporary Art in North Adams, Mass., and the Dallas Museum of Art.

The College of Fine Arts Tim Hamill Visiting Artist Lecture Series presents Saltz and Ritchie on Wednesday, March 28, at 6:30 p.m. in the SMG auditorium. The annual lecture series, named in honor of school of visual arts alum Tim Hamill (CFA’65,’68), brings to campus artists whose work crosses boundaries among artistic disciplines and who are connected to the art world in various ways. The talk is free and open to the public.
