A very graphic display

From the pragmatic to the conceptual, information was most certainly on display last spring in the Sherman Gallery. Students in the Senior Degree Project in Graphic Design exhibited their final projects in a culmination of four years of work.

There was a wide range of projects—information graphics about the Beatles, for instance, and a two-dimensional representation of dance movement. Running through it all—besides a lot of hard work—was the mandate not only to manage content and form to communicate information in a basic commercial sense, but also that there be some focused research behind the content in order that it transform the work into a means of expression and inquiry—what some call art.
