The children coming into the wards of the Hospital Baca Ortiz in Quito, Ecuador, have the kinds of problems you just don’t see in the United States.
As part of her International Programs semester abroad, Hilary Gallogly (MED’09) spent a month at the hospital, assisting doctors and helping children and their mothers as they dealt with all manner of pediatric challenges—pneumonia, respiratory issues, seizures, brain damage, and much more.
