What does it say about Coolio that so many BU students still remember the first time they heard the now-classic “Gangsta’s Paradise”? And that hearing it mentioned, so many spontaneously break into a rendition of the song?
As the video shows, you can take Coolio out of the limelight, but you can’t take him out of his fans. Remarkable, really, considering that most BU undergrads were less than 10 years old when “Gangsta’s Paradise” was released in 1995.
