Andersson awarded an NIH R21 grant

Sean Andersson was awarded a three year, $500,000 R21 grant from the National Institutes of Health for a project titled “A novel SFM-based method for studying single molecule dynamics.” The project will develop a novel method for studying the dynamics of single molecules moving on biopolymers. The method is a new control approach centered on the concept […]

The paper titled ““Tracking nanometer-scale fluorescent particles in two dimensions with a confocal microscope” by Zhaolong Shen and Sean Andersson has been accepted for publication in the IEEE Transactions on Control Systems Technology. Congratulations!

Paper accepted to the IFAC Symposium on Mechatronic Systems

The paper “Optimal measurement constellation of the fluoroBancroft localization algorithm for position estimation in tracking confocal microscopy”, written by Zhaolong Shen and Sean Andersson, has been accepted for the 5th IFAC Symposium on Mechatronics Systems. Congratulations! Zhaolong and and Sean will be going all the way to Cambridge, MA, to attend the conference.

Alessandra Forcucci wins a UROP award

Congratulations to Alessandra Forcucci for receiving a UROP grant in support of her research for the summer of 2010! Alessandra will be investigating the capabilities of the fluoroBancroft algorithm for localizing single fluorescent particles, characterizing the effect of different algorithm parameters on the accuracy of the scheme.
