Inhibitory neurons have both inhibitory and excitatory axosomatic synapses and it is not uncommon for their nuclear envelopes to show folds. Also, as they age the perikarya of inhibitory neurons tend to contain more lipofuscin than the perikarya of excitatory neurons.
