Opera Production for DMA Students (Voice). For DMA Voice Performance Students only, this course is designed to account for the various aspects of research, study, preparation for rehearsal and performance aspect of DMA students who are cast in roles Opera Institute productions. The activities include and are not limited to research, self preparation, coachings, rehearsals, and performances of staged productions where all of the preparatory processes allow for full integration of the skill-set developed in rehearsals. Assignment of roles is through audition only and/or at the discretion of the Opera and Voice faculty. Registration by permission only. Outside the Box: Music Education from Non-traditional Perspectives. Engaging a seminar format, Outside the Box guides students in examining music education and its attendant methods, materials, mindsets and more from contexts – including those employing the Africentric Arts Education Framework – outside of typical school classrooms. Students will participate in fieldwork and class discussions paired with readings and reflections. Final projects will blend academic rigor with artistic output.
Class meets Saturdays 9:30am-12:00pm, October 17 - November 21. Meets w/ ME 460 A1. Students should register for 1 unit. |
