Dr. Reed’s research and teaching interests are in the area of applied psycholinguistics, with a focus on speech perception of connected discourse by non-native speakers. In particular, her recent research investigates the role of auditory feedback in speech perception. A second strand of her work involves monolingual and bilingual language acquisition, with a focus on relating linguistic theory and second-language acquisition research to pedagogical applications. Additional areas of interest include teacher training and material development, both domestic and in the Far East.
