Transcripts
University Policy
Current students may order transcripts online through the “Transcript Preview and Ordering” option on the Student Link. There is a $4 fee, payable by credit card, for each official transcript ordered online. In all other cases, requests for official transcripts must be made in writing, either by letter or by completing a Transcript Request form available online at reg or at the University Registrar. Please include the following information: full name, including any former names; contact phone and e-mail; signature; Boston University ID number or Social Security number; schools attended and dates; degrees awarded; and complete addresses of transcript destinations. The fee is $6 for each transcript requested in writing, and payment must accompany the request. Processing time for transcript requests is about two business days. Transcripts can be sent Express Mail for an additional $19 per destination to locations within the continental United States. For other destinations, please contact the Transcript Department for the cost. Unofficial transcripts can be obtained in person at the Registrar’s Office during regular business hours. There is no charge for unofficial transcripts. A valid photo ID is required to obtain unofficial and official transcripts if the request is made in person at the Registrar’s Office. Please note that the Registrar’s Office does not mail unofficial transcripts.

Current Students
To ensure accuracy and efficiency of the transcript requests process, we are now accepting online transcript requests through the new GSDM Portal.
If you are on campus, you can login directly at the following link: http://gsdm.bumc.bu.edu/portal
If you are off campus, you must log in to the VPN link at http://work2.bumc.bu.edu first before clicking on: http://gsdm.bumc.bu.edu/portal.
Please use the same Kerberos username and password to login into both the VPN and the GSDM portal that you would use to access the Student Link, SPS, and/or Salud.
Once you are logged in, go to Academic > Transcript Requests/Tracking to fill out your online form. You may then make additional transcript request(s) if needed or track existing transcript requests.
Our expectation is that you will use this new advanced and fast service as BU is committed to utilizing the latest technology. This new service will not only meet your needs, but also assist with the Office of the Registrar’s goal to reduce our carbon footprint.

Official Versus Unoffical Transcripts
Official and unofficial transcripts contain all academic information about a student, including classes, grades, class rank, and GPA (GPA and class rank for predoctoral students only).
Official transcripts include the signature of the School of Dental Medicine Registrar and the Boston University seal.
Unofficial transcripts carry the same information as the official transcript but do not have the University seal or the Registrar’s signature.
Rushed Transcript
If a transcript is needed immediately, students should either request it online, indicating rushed transcript on the form, visit us in person to complete a request form, or fax the request at 617-638-4732. This will eliminate mailing time. To further expedite the mailing process, once the request is received, transcripts can be mailed out via express courier such as federal express. If you would like to use this option on your request form, please include your credit card number as well as expiration date. Please note, overnights can not be delivered to P.O. Boxes or Mail Box codes. Be sure to include your daytime phone number in order to process your request.
How to Get Course Descriptions
To receive copies of course descriptions, submit a request in writing. Include the same information required for an official transcript as well as the year the course was taken, the course name and number. If requesting course descriptions for all Boston University classes taken, please indicate that all course descriptions are required. There is no charge for this service.
Transcript Request Protocol for Pre-Doctoral and Graduating Students
Following policies and procedures established by the main campus Office of the University Registrar, effective 06/04/10 our office implemented a new process regarding transcript requests: transcripts will be processed only based on grades currently recorded. We believe that it is instrumental for students to have a constructive dialogue with their respective department/s or with their instructor/s to ensure that all grades are submitted prior to making a transcript request. Graduating students, please note that your graduation date will not appear on your transcript until the appropriate/official graduation date has passed.
For all further transcript-related questions or to check on the status of alumni requests, please contact our Assistant to the Registrar, Mr. Daniel Hyacinthe at danh@bu.edu or at 617-638-4784.
