CALL FOR CONFERENCE PARTICIPATION

25th Anniversary National Meeting and Conference
June 9‐11, 2011

Conference Theme: Radical Practice in the Human Services: Which Way Forward?

We invite community organizers, social activists, progressive social workers, human service workers, students and faculty ,as well as activists with community‐based organizations to send in proposals.
Note: All proposals must include an interactive discussion and visioning component.
Please include the following in your proposals in a word file:
* Cover page with names, electronic/surface contact information and affiliations of all presenters.
* 250 word proposal linked to the conference theme and/or the principles of SWAA (check website)
* 50 word abstract for the conference program.
* Please provide 2‐3 outcomes from this workshop that describe what participants will gain by participating in your activity/workshop. Please describe how the participation of attendees will be achieved.
* Please indicate whether the format is a workshop, panel, individual presentation, poster, or film. You may propose an alternate format for consideration..
*Preference for presentation day: Friday AM Friday PM Saturday AM Saturday PM
Every attempt will be made to match your first preference; however, this cannot be guaranteed.
* Although all requests for Audio‐Visual may not be accommodated, it would help us to know what you would need for your presentation room so we can work to meet your AV needs. My A/V needs may include:

Proposals will be responded to acknowledged electronically as soon as possible.

DEADLINE FOR PROPOSALS (extended): March 4, 2011.

We regret we are unable to provide complementary registration to presenters, since SWAA conference registration fees are nominal and expense‐based. Scholarships will be available. Conference registrants will have the opportunity to include 2011 SWAA membership at no additional cost. Registration information will be on the SWAA website as soon as arrangements have been finalized.
