API Call for Presentations Shanghai June 2011
Asian & Pacific Islands Social Work Educators Association (APISWEA) in the United States, in co-sponsorship with East China University of Science & Technology (ECUST), Shanghai, China announces the Call for Presentations for “Social Work and Social Policy International Conference” which will be held in Shanghai, China, June 10-11, 2011.
This conference aims at broadening international applications of contemporary ideas¸ knowledge, skills and values of social work education, practice, research and policy; including but not limited to child welfare, mental health, and community development. The hosting institute and API encourage the exchange of diverse experiences, ideas, and evidence-based research in promoting collaboration and advancement of global social welfare and professional social work. APISWEA joins in such timely efforts to share the members’ scholarship for mutual benefits.
We will conduct a blind review. Please submit your abstract of no more than 300 words in English (font size 12) by March 15, 2011. We welcome submissions of paper presentations (20 minutes, including Q&A), panel presentations (1 hr, including Q&A), and workshops (1 hr). Please submit a cover letter and a separate abstract. In your cover letter, please include the title of the presentation and presenter/panel member name(s) with their titles, affiliations, email addresses, and contact phone numbers. On the abstract, provide the title, type of presentation, and the content only. Acceptance notices will be sent to email addresses by March 31, 2011. Send your abstract to: yuhwa.eva.lu@gmail.com.
The conference fee will be waived for the participating members of APISWEA. Lodging choices may be arranged for from 200 Yuen ($30) per room to 450 Yuen ($68) per room (4 stars) at hotels near the hosting University. The conference hosting institute will provide translation when necessary for the presenters and audience. It is expected that the presenters will be present at the conference at the times and places designated for their presentations.
