David W. Restrick (1990, STM, 2001, ThD)

 

Dave-RestrickDavid was born in Annapolis, Maryland, son of a pastor in the Church of the Nazarene. Growing up in northeast Ohio and the Boston, Massachusetts North Shore, David graduated from Eastern Nazarene College in 1973. Following three years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Swaziland, Africa, David attended and graduated from Nazarene Theological Seminary, Kansas City, Missouri, with an MDiv in 1982. With his wife, Rhoda, David served as pastor of the Church of the Nazarene, Weston-super-Mare, England until 1985 before returning to Africa as an educational missionary with the Church of the Nazarene, serving in South Africa and Mozambique. While on leave from service in Africa, David completed his STM in 1990 and his ThD in 2001 from Boston University School of Theology. During his 25 years in Mozambique, David was Academic Dean and professor at Seminário Nazareno em Moçambique, Maputo, Mozambique. In that capacity he not only assisted in the development and construction of a new campus for the seminary, but also oversaw two curriculum revisions. He also assisted in the development of Masters of Divinity program for Mozambique in cooperation with leaders of the Assemblies of God Bible School in Maputo, Mozambique, and South American Theology Faculty, Londrina, Brazil. In 2014, David and his wife retired from their missionary service in Mozambique. Since September,2014, David has been serving as Assistant Professor of Missions and Church History at Eastern Nazarene College, Quincy, Massachusetts.
