Nate Pardue
My first post-undergrad job was writing for a daily newspaper in New Hampshire. After about five years, I came to the realization that writing was not my passion, but I really enjoyed meeting new people and hearing their stories, which led me to the human services field. I moved to Boston in 2007 and loved the city immediately. My first job here was helping folks with major mental illness find supported jobs in the city. It was at that point that I decided to go to grad school, where I eventually received my master’s degree in social work.  I came to BU in 2016 after working five years as the lead clinician on an inpatient psychiatric unit outside of Boston. My primary role at behavioral medicine is as the senior evaluation clinician on staff. In addition, I have also facilitated several groups in the SHS groups program, including a grief group for BU students that recently became available year-round. My favorite part about my job is what brought me to the field in the first place — meeting new people and hearing their stories. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two daughters, running, cooking (fairly well, I think), and golfing (mediocrely, I am certain).
