Compliance Requirements

Online students, with some exceptions, are required to complete Sexual Misconduct Prevention and AlcoholEdu trainings. Information on the trainings is available at BU Student Health Services Wellness & Prevention. Check the Personal tab in the MyBU Student Portal to see your compliance status. You must complete the assigned trainings during your first semester at BU or you will be prevented from registration activity until the trainings are complete.

Online Session Dates

For online students enrolling at Boston University, there is a fall semester (September through December, comprising both Fall 1 and Fall 2 online sessions), a spring semester (January through May, comprising both Spring 1 and Spring 2 online sessions), and two summer sessions. “Summer Term” dates are different from summer online sessions. Please check the Summer Term website or contact a Faculty & Student Support Administrator for more information if you are unsure of the start and end dates of your summer courses.
