Rich with Tradition

Boston University's first Army ROTC commissioning class, 1919

Boston University is one of only a handful of colleges and universities in the United States with all three ROTC programs (Army, Navy, and Air Force) on its campus.  Boston University Army ROTC, established in 1919, takes pride in being the first ROTC program on campus.

An integral part of the University community since then (with a hiatus from 1970 to 1980), Boston University ROTC graduates have served in every conflict from World War I to the Gulf War.  Our programs have commissioned more than 5,000 second lieutenants and ensigns, seven of whom have risen to flag rank.  Proud of both their alma mater and service to the nation, these alumni are committed to the long tradition of support for ROTC at Boston University.
