Late Fees

If you fail to meet the payment deadline, you will be assessed a late fee in accordance with the payment deadline schedule. If you have an inquiry about a late fee, Student Accounting Services will gladly respond after your account is settled. Please write to us on a separate sheet of paper before the end of the appropriate semester.

Address your letter to:
  • Student Accounting Services
    881 Commonwealth Avenue
    Boston, MA 02215-1390
    Attn: Late Fees
In your letter, please provide us with the following information:
  1. Your name and student identification number.
  2. The semester or semesters in which you received the late fee.
  3. The circumstances that you wish to be reviewed.

Suggestions for Avoiding Late Fees
  • Register for classes at least 10 weeks prior to the beginning of the semester in order to receive a bill before the payment deadline.
  • If you do not receive a bill, it is your responsibility to provide the University with an accurate billing address or request a statement or verbal estimate from our office in order to complete payment/settlement before the University deadline.
  • If you experience difficulty with the postal service in your area, we urge you to allow ample time to mail in payment.
  • If you are appealing a financial aid decision, you are still responsible for completing payment/settlement by the deadline date.
  • If you have a poor payment history, please be aware that it will be taken into account when the circumstances of your late fee are reviewed.
