Terrier Traditions: Smashing Pumpkins
Share
Nothing gets BU students oohing and aahing like a colorful explosion.
Welcome to the Physics department’s annual Pumpkin Drop.

Every year in late October, pumpkins filled with paint, liquid nitrogen, or whatever
fall out of the sky.
Or, to be precise, from the top of the Metcalf Science Center.

The event includes a costume contest
and even parabolic calculations of each descent.

It’s been going on for more than 15 years.
Who says physics isn’t fun?
Pumpkin Drop is a bona fide smash!
And a Terrier Tradition.
