Yanina Nahum, Ph.D.

Postdoctoral Researcher

Yanina is a postdoctoral researcher in Professor Zaman’s lab in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and at the Center on Forced Displacement at Boston University. She earned her Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, focusing on wastewater research and antimicrobial resistance. Her work emphasizes biofilm growth and development, particularly in relation to infectious diseases. Yanina is also interested in how exposure to contaminants and bacteria affects the health of displaced populations. Outside the lab, Yanina loves gardening, doing pottery, and spending time with her family.
