Running Through the 202

by Taryn Ottaunick (Fall 2016)

I’ve always believed that the best way to engage with a city is to run through it. Although I started running in my hometown in New Jersey, I did not really get into the sport until I began going to Boston University. More

4 Great Vegetarian Options in DC

Deva Taylor
Fall 2015

  1. Tono Sushi, Woodley Park

If you’re anything like me, changing from an omnivorous to a vegetarian diet was made particularly difficult by that simple preparation of raw fish and rice called sushi. And while I have grown to love sweet potato rolls and vegetable tempura, every now and then I crave something a little more fun on my plate - a craving perfectly satisfied by Tono Sushi’s spicy crunchy tofu roll.  If the name doesn’t give it away, this maki roll is a blend of spicy mayo, protein-packed tofu, and tempura flakes. Shopping Hot Spots in the Capitol

Justin Soto
Fall 2015

While DC isn’t exactly the most fashion forward city in the world, there are still plenty of opportunities to find that special piece for your closet. Where to Eat From Sunrise to Sunset in DC

By Tyler Grove
Fall 2015

Washington DC can be overwhelming with all of the different options for food. From local favorites such as Ben’s Chili Bowl to fine dining such as Le Diplomate, it can be hard to settle on just one restaurant. To make your decisions easier, here are a few of my favorite restaurants to eat at for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Enjoy!

Breakfast: Ted’s Bulletin

My favorite meal is breakfast, so it is hard for me to ever pass up the chance to go to Ted’s Bulletin. With a lively atmosphere, incredible wait staff and mouth watering breakfast options, I can promise you will never leave hungry. Ted’s is most known for its homemade pop tarts. The pop tart flavors range from blueberry cheesecake to salted caramel, so you do not want to miss the opportunity to try one of these delectable treats!

By Alyssa Lodge
Spring 2015

I love music—it is so special because it has the ability to evoke an indescribable feeling of inspiration, emotion, and hope that you can’t find in anything else. Recently, one of my hobbies has been finding singer/songwriter artists that have a lot of talent and not much recognition—I have found that some of the best artists are not those whose name appears in lights outside of a stadium.

Lucky for me, I have spent the semester in DC where one of its “claims to fame” is the music scene and I have been fortunate enough to stumble upon several wonderful artists while I have been here. The music and the atmosphere of the venues that I have come across compliment one another and make for quite the experience.
