The Beacon’s Anti-Valentines Open Mic
The Beacon, which bills itself as a “social literary journal which thrives on the imagination of Boston University’s finest writers,” holds open mic events several times a semester. At its latest, Anti-Valentines Open Mike Night, held February 12 at CAS, Jada Bautista (CAS’26), reciting her piece “Cigarettes,” was among the students performing their poems, short stories, and spoken word pieces ahead of the release of the spring 2023 Beacon edition.
