Vigil for Ukraine
A candlelight vigil sponsored by BU’s Center for the Study of Europe was held on Marsh Plaza May 3 for those who oppose the war and stand for the protection of the sovereign nation of Ukraine. Led by BU faculty member Alya Guseva, who identifies as Ukrainian and sang the Ukrainian national anthem, about a dozen people spoke at the vigil, among them AGNI coeditor Bill Pierce reading “Such Love” by Ukrainian poet Yuliya Musakovska, Rev. Jessica Chicka (STH’07,’11,’19), University chaplain for international students, BU faculty Kate Saenko and Svitlana Malykhina, and Thomas Silver (CAS’23). Photo by Cydney Scott
