Hidden HERstories: Priscilla Fairfield Bok (CAS 1917)

A painting of Priscilla Fairfield Bok (CAS 1917), an astronomer who popularized the Milky Way, was dedicated in CAS 502 on May 13, and attending were many of Bok’s descendants, both in person and via Zoom. Among them was Kenzie Bok, a Boston city councilor (left), here with mural artist Zora Che (CAS’22). BU’s ARROWS (Advance, Recruit, Retain & Organize Women in STEM) invited proposals last semester from visual artists for five site-specific projects to be installed in different STEM departmental spaces around campus, organized by a new undertaking called Hidden HERstories.
