BU Hosts Mothers for Justice & Equality National Conference

BU hosted the nonprofit Mothers for Justice & Equality (MJE) seventh annual national conference, whose theme was “Empowering Women to Justice,” October 12 to 14. The organization seeks to end neighborhood violence by empowering mothers and youth to be effective catalysts for change in their homes, schools, and communities. The opening reception was held at the Howard Thurman Center for Common Ground October 12, and among the speakers were Monalisa Smith, MJE founder, president, and CEO, and emcee Amanda Merrick.
