Ribbon-Cutting Held for BU Academy Mural
A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the mural on the BU Academy back wall, created by Sitarah Lakhani (BUA’22), was held August 30. Lakhani (above), now a Rhode Island School of Design freshman, conceived the project during her sophomore year at the academy, and her vision came to fruition this summer. The mural showcases the women of the BU community, with a special nod to those in STEM fields. Lakhani was mentored by muralist Amanda Hill, supported by the academy and the BU Arts Initiative and with funding from private donors. Volunteers helped paint the mural this summer.
