Mass. COVID Vaccination, Phase 2B

Effective Thursday, under the state’s vaccine guidelines, people in Phase 2B, those 65 and older, or with two or more underlying health conditions, or residents and staff of public and private low-income and affordable senior housing, are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Under the state’s rules for requesting vaccine, BU must wait until next week before applying for doses for its Phase 2B eligible people, so it isn’t expected that anyone in that group will receive on-campus shots immediately. BU plans to request additional doses, but since there is no guarantee it will be approved by the state, those eligible under Phase 2B are encouraged to get the vaccine wherever they can.
