Remembering Kendall Castañeda (CAS’21)

A memorial service honoring the life of Kendall Castañeda (CAS’21), and the many things he did for the BU community, was held September 3 at the Howard Thurman Center. The recent grad, who died unexpectedly August 22, leaving fellow BU community members reeling, was a Posse Scholar, a Scarlet Key Society member, a resident assistant, and an active member of the BU Filipino Student Association, and he was also on the executive board of the Minority Connection Initiative. An anthropology major and computer science minor, he had completed two internships at Deloitte as well as the CodeU Program at Google. At the service, Kendall’s friends were encouraged to write letters to him that will be digitally compiled “into a memory book for those closest to him.” Beverly Bruno (Sargent’22) (center, left), Minority Connection Initiative president, and Malika Kounkourou (CAS’22) (center, right) were among Kendall’s many friends who gathered to remember him.
