Fisk House Dedication
The dedication of the new home of BU’s Fisk House, which provides low-cost housing to BU women graduate students in a wide range of programs, from fine arts to environmental health to international affairs, and is managed by the BU Women’s Guild, was held November 5, and nearly four dozen guests were on hand to celebrate. The residence was opened on Comm Ave in 1933 and has since supported hundreds of women grad students; the 193 Bay State Road building now housing Fisk House was renovated last summer. Diane Gallagher (left), a former Women’s Council vice president and a retired Gotlieb Center archivist, was among the speakers, and plaques recognizing Women’s Guild Endowed Scholarship Fund donors and BU Women’s Council past presidents were unveiled.
