Antigone
Based on the Sophocles tragedy, one of whose themes is civil disobedience, Antigone by Jean Anouilh was first performed in Nazi-occupied France in 1944 and is considered a metaphor for the Nazis and the collaborationist Vichy regime. The CFA School of Theatre production, with Holly Stewart (CFA’18) as Antigone, runs at the Joan & Edgar Booth Theatre through May 9. Photo by Maddie Malhotra (COM’19)
