Bostonian of the Year

Bostonian of the Year: The Boston Globe has chosen BU’s Ann McKee for its annual honor, saying: “For her skill and relentlessness in pursuing research that is forcing us to confront hard truths most of us would rather avoid, McKee is our Bostonian of the Year.” The School of Medicine professor of neurology and pathology has been studying the brains of people with the degenerative brain disease chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) for several years, and her research has drawn attention to the long-term dangers of repetitive hits in sports, raising tough questions about safety.
