Criteria for Practicum Scholarships
Basis of Award:
The award is given to Boston University graduate students enrolled in the Religion and Conflict Transformation program for a summer international, national, or local practicum, internship, or field education placement in order to fulfill the requirements for the RCT concentration or certificate. The scholarship is awarded to students to assist with transportation and living expenses
Eligibility for Awards:
Recipients must be enrolled in the Boston University School of Theology program in Religion and Conflict Transformation and working towards fulfilling degree program requirements for the concentration/ certificate.
Application Procedure:
A prospective applicant should supply a personal statement detailing the following:
1.) A personal statement explaining why student seeks placement with the identified practicum site;
2.) A letter of support from the faculty of record, acknowledging that they support the proposal and agree to serve as the faculty of record;
3.) A description of the organization with which student will work;
4.) A description of the person supervising the student during the practicum, including their role in the organization;
5.) An outline of the student’s learning goals and responsibilities during the placement. Include projected time frame, i.e. start and end dates;
6.) An itemized budget of projected costs (e.g. travel and living expenses)
