B&E in Brookline 11/7/2007
The Brookline Police report that at 4:30 AM on 11/7/2007, there was a reported break in of an apartment at 21 Gibbs Street that was similar to a break in/sexual assault that occurred in the same neighborhood on September 30, 2007. The most recent break was reported by a female, who was awoken by an intruder that was touching her foot as she slept, which woke her up. The intruder fled out the aprtment and into the street. The victim described the intruder as 5’6″ – 5’8″. dressed in all dark clothing.
There are several similarities between this incident and the incident at 178 Naples Street, college age females targeted, early morning hour occurrance, doors or windows left unlocked or open, when women screamed the intruder fled, and both occurring within a couple of blocks from each other.
Brookline Police and the BU Police ask the residents in this area to be aware of these incidents, to lock their doors and windows and to report any suspicious activity they may see or hear to contact the Brookline Police by 911 or 617-730-2222 or the BU Police at 617-353-2121 .
