Unarmed Robbery in front of 33 Bay State Rd on 10/26/2010

On 10/26/2010 at 11:30 PM Officers responded for a report of a female who had just been robbed in front of 33 Bay State Rd. The victim stated that she was walking alone on Bay State Rd at approximately 11:30 PM, when the suspect passed her walking inbound. She stated the male suspect smiled at her as he passed. The victim stated immediately after passing, the suspect grabbed a hold of the shoulder bag she was carrying and she struggled to hold on to the bag, while screaming. She stated he ultimately got the bag from her after the strap tore off. The suspect ran away with the bag, dropping numerous items from the bag, which he stopped and picked up. She last saw the suspect at the corner of Bay State Rd and Charlesgate West, headed towards Storrow Dr. The victim stated she had not been injured during the incident and refused any medical attention. The victim reported that her bag containing, wallet, valued at $300, Apple IPod, valued at $200, Sprint cell phone, valued at $100, $3 cash, Chase debit card IN driver’s license and BU identification. The victim described the suspect as an Arabic or Middle Eastern male, 20-24 years old, 5’10” tall, medium build, scruffy beard, wearing a green hooded shirt and jeans.
