Sexual Assault on the Esplanade
The Boston University Police Department has received information about a sexual assault that occurred on the Esplanade in the area of the Massachusetts Avenue Bridge. A woman was jogging in that area about 11:15 PM. She was attacked by a heavyset black male, described by the victim as about 5’8″ to 5’10”, dark completion, bald, no facial hair or scars, wearing a black T-shirt and black shorts. The victim ran off when a passerby observed the incident. The assault is being investigated by the Massachusetts State Police.

- Always be aware of your surroundings, whether on or off campus.
- Remember that your awareness is diminished if you are on your cell phone or listening to an Ipod while walking or jogging.
- Report any suspicious activity or persons immediately to the Boston University Police Department at 617-353-2121. Do not assume they are harmless, trust your feelings.
- If you see something, say something.
