The time is the present. A small log house in the woods.

face} including the floor} which is covered with an old Persian rug.
Two out-of-use TVs} circa 1950. An aged radio-phonograph console}
next to it on the floor a stack of classical LPs. A large oak table that
serves as a dining table and

desk. A typewriter} holding a
blank sheet of paper at
ABE}S
end of the table; next to it a ream of
blank paper. The kitchen is separated from the living-dining room
by a tattered screen} covered with magazine cut-outs of famous faces:
