Kimberly Young (Hasselmo lab) received her BSc in physiology from McGill University. At the end of her degree and after graduation, she worked at the McGill advanced bioimaging facility and became strongly interested in microscopy tools for biologists. She continued her work at McGill at the Masters level, investigating retrograde mechanisms of synaptic strengthening using invitro electrophyiology and in vivo 2-P fluorescence microscopy (using the FRAP technique) in the lab of Dr. Pejmun Haghighi. Once at BU, she joined the lab of Dr. Michael Hasselmo, and has a keen interest in using invitro and in vivo imaging methods to understand cholinergic modulation of hippocampal and entorhinal circuits. She expects to complete her PhD in 2020.
